Resonance Core SFX - now a standalone sound pack
Resonance's sounds have been carved out into their own pack.
Up until now all the combat SFX shipped inside the module itself. That was simple and it worked - but the sounds are going to grow. Every new pack adds weight, and Forge is already taking half an hour just to pull an update. It wasn't going to scale.
So the core sounds - hits, spells, creature calls, death cries, the lot - now live in a separate download that Resonance picks up at runtime. If you're already running Resonance, it'll detect the pack and wire everything in. No config changes, no re-mapping. I'll roll this out across a few versions to keep it as seamless as possible - but you will need to download and install the sound pack before I pull the sounds form the module core.

Getting this onto Forge was its own adventure. I've not personally used Forge before this, and there were some incredibly fiddly quirks that all had to be ironed out one at a time. Shout out to Tutor for the assistance and for raising issues I would have been completely blind to otherwise 🧡
The pack is free. 339 sound files across weapons, spells, creatures, and PC vocals (masculine and feminine variants). Works with DnD 5e, Pathfinder 2e, and Daggerheart.
What's next:
Part of this carve-out is getting ready for the PF2e adapter, which just went live in Resonance v2.5. There's also musical instruments and ambient fire crackling coming to Respite via Resonance - if you've played Enshrouded you know exactly what I mean 😅
Grab it from the Resonance settings panel under Pack Registry. It downloads and registers in one click or download here https://www.patreon.com/posts/155880618/
